Alvin Toffler is often quoted as saying:

“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn. ”

This is especially true for offspring of American Slaves, no matter the extent of their formal education because information that drives us to be self-doubting and to have a feeling of being less valuable is not included in any course of study offered at educational institutions.

There are great sources of information that can be obtained at other outlets, however.  We owe it to ourselves and to our offspring and community to learn as much accurate information as possible about how we got where we are, the American economic system, and the actual way in which our so-called system of justice actually works.  We need to apply our learning to build sustainable communities and contribute the full measure of our capabilities to our nation.

Below are some excellent books that will get you started in the right direction.
